How it works
What your AI readiness score measures
Ten signals decide whether AI search engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews can find, trust and cite your business. Here is what each one means.
AI search readiness is how visible and quotable your business is to AI answer engines. When someone asks an AI assistant for a recommendation, the AI pulls from sources it can read, understand and trust. If your business is hard to find or hard to parse, the AI describes a competitor instead. The score on this page checks the ten signals that decide whether you make the cut.
Discoverability and entity consistency. A verified Google Business Profile, plus a name, address and phone number that match across your website and every profile, give AI a clear, confident picture of who you are and where you operate. Inconsistent details make AI hesitant to cite you.
Structured data and content format. Schema markup tells AI exactly what you do and what you offer, in a format it reads natively. A dedicated FAQ section, written as real questions and answers, is the single highest-impact content type for AI citation, because it mirrors how people actually query an assistant.
Technical health and AI crawler access. AI crawlers such as GPTBot, PerplexityBot and Googlebot use the same signals as Google: speed, HTTPS and mobile-friendliness. Many sites also block these crawlers by accident in robots.txt. If AI cannot reach or load your pages, it cannot cite you, no matter how good the content is.
Authority, freshness and brand mentions. Reviews on Google, Hellopeter and Trustpilot, content updated in the last 90 days, and mentions on LinkedIn, directories and news sites all build the trust AI needs before it will quote you. A business that only appears on its own site scores far lower than one referenced across many sources.
Homepage clarity. AI extracts a single summary sentence about your business. If your homepage clearly states what you do, who you serve and where you operate in plain language, the AI describes you accurately. If it is vague, the AI either describes you vaguely or skips you.
Fix these ten signals and you move from invisible to citable. The free assessment above scores each one and gives you a per-category breakdown so you know exactly where to start. For a deeper, done-for-you review, our team runs a full AI search visibility audit.
