Other options

Other ways to work with us

Not every job needs a full package. If you have a one-off piece or just need a designer's hands for a few hours, these options give you a clear starting point.

R650 per hour

Hourly design for ad-hoc work, edits, and anything outside a package. Best for quick updates, once-off pieces, or revisions beyond the two rounds included in a project.

Monthly retainer

Ongoing design across campaigns, social, and marketing material, priced on your expected monthly volume. Best for businesses that need a steady stream of on-brand creative.

What shapes cost

What shapes the cost of design

Two design quotes can differ widely and both be fair. These are the things that move the number most.

Number of concepts

More initial concepts means more design exploration up front. A two-concept logo costs less than a six-concept one, because there is more original work to produce and present.

Revision rounds

Two rounds are included as standard. Heavy back-and-forth beyond that is billed at the hourly rate, so a clear brief keeps the cost down.

Strategy and research

A quick mark costs less than an identity grounded in market research, positioning, and a full guidelines document. You are paying for thinking, not just drawing.

Scope and deliverables

A single logo is one thing; a logo plus stationery, social templates, and guidelines is a system. The more applications you need, the higher the project price.

File ownership and formats

Cheap design often hands over a flat JPEG you cannot scale. Professional work includes vector source files you fully own, which is part of the value.

Turnaround

Standard timelines are built into the price. A genuine rush job that needs the team to drop other work may carry a surcharge, agreed with you up front.

How it is priced

The ways graphic design is priced

Design is charged in a few different ways. Knowing which one applies helps you compare quotes fairly.

Per item or project

A fixed price for a defined piece, like a logo or flyer, with a set number of concepts and revisions. The clearest model for most jobs, and how our packages and rate card work.

Hourly

Billed by time for ad-hoc work or edits. Our rate is R650 an hour excluding VAT, which sits in the senior and agency band of the South African market.

Per page

Used for multi-page pieces like company profiles and brochures, where the price scales with the number of pages designed and laid out.

Monthly retainer

A fixed monthly fee for ongoing design across campaigns and social, priced on expected volume. More efficient than item-by-item billing once you need regular creative.

By business stage

SA vs market

How our pricing compares across South Africa

So you can sanity-check any quote, here is where the South African market sits in 2026, and where Juicy Designs fits within it.

TierHourly rateWho it is
Entry or junior freelancerR150 to R200Students and beginners building a portfolio
Mid-level freelancerR250 to R500Experienced freelancers and small studios
Senior designer or agencyR520 to R1,500+Established studios with a full team, where Juicy Designs sits at R650
ProjectSA market rangeJuicy Designs from
Logo designR1,000 to R5,000R2,500
Corporate identity packR4,000 to R14,000R6,500
Full brand identityR10,000 to R25,000+R15,000
Flyer or posterR500 to R3,000R900
Company profileR1,500 to R10,000+R6,500

A note on very cheap design. A R200 logo is usually a template or an AI generation with no strategy, no unique concepts, and only a flat image file. It can cost more to replace later, in rebranding and lost credibility, than doing it properly once. Judge design on what it does for your brand, not the lowest price.

FAQ

Graphic design pricing questions

How much does graphic design cost in South Africa?

Graphic design in South Africa runs from about R150 an hour for a junior freelancer to R1,500 an hour for a senior designer or agency. Single items start around R500 for a flyer, while logos run R1,000 to R5,000. Juicy Designs charges R650 an hour excluding VAT, with logos from R2,500 and full brand identity from R15,000.

How much does a logo cost?

A professional logo at Juicy Designs starts from R2,500 excluding VAT, including multiple concepts, two revision rounds, and full vector files. Across the SA market, logos range from about R1,000 at the budget end to R5,000 from established studios, and more when part of a full brand identity with strategy.

What is your hourly rate?

Our graphic design hourly rate is R650 excluding VAT. This applies to ad-hoc design, edits, and any revisions beyond the two rounds included in a package. For context, the SA market runs R150 to R200 for juniors, R250 to R500 for mid-level, and R520 to R1,500+ for senior and agency work, so our rate sits in the senior band.

How much is a corporate identity package?

Our corporate identity package starts from R6,500 excluding VAT and includes a logo, business card, letterhead, and email signature. The SA market for corporate identity packs runs roughly R4,000 to R14,000 depending on the number of concepts and assets included.

Do I get the editable source files?

Yes. Once the project is paid in full, you receive the final artwork in open, editable vector formats such as AI, SVG, or EPS, along with the font files and colour codes. You own your brand outright, with no lock-in.

How many revision rounds are included?

Most items and packages include two free revision rounds, which is enough to refine the chosen concept. Additional revisions beyond that are billed at our R650 hourly rate. A clear brief up front keeps revisions, and cost, down.

Do prices include VAT?

No. All prices shown are excluding VAT. As a registered South African business we add 15% VAT on official quotes and invoices, so factor that in when comparing, since not every provider states whether VAT is included.

How long does a design project take?

A standard logo or flyer usually takes three to five working days for the first concept. A full corporate identity package typically takes seven to ten working days. Timelines depend on how quickly you provide feedback, so prompt responses speed things up.

Can you redraw or modernise my old logo?

Yes. Our logo redraw service starts from R1,500 excluding VAT. We rebuild a low-quality or pixelated logo as a clean, high-resolution vector suitable for large-format printing, signage, and web, without changing the design you already know.

Do you offer printing?

We focus on design and supply print-ready files in the correct format and colour space. You can take those files to any printer in South Africa, which means you keep full ownership of the artwork and can shop around for the best printing price locally.

Why is professional design more than a R200 logo?

A R200 logo is usually a template or AI output with no strategy, no unique concepts, and only a flat image file you cannot scale. Professional design gives you original concepts, vector files you own, and a mark built to work across every size and surface. It costs more up front and far less to live with.

Do you offer ongoing design retainers?

Yes. If you need regular design across campaigns, social media, and marketing material, a monthly retainer is usually more efficient than item-by-item billing. We price it on your expected monthly volume. Ask for a custom retainer quote during your consultation.

Do you design for both print and digital?

Yes. We design for print such as flyers, brochures, signage, and stationery, and for digital such as social graphics, email signatures, digital ads, and presentation decks. Files are supplied in the correct format and colour space for the intended use.

Can graphic design be combined with other services?

Yes. Many clients pair design with web, social media, or a full marketing retainer. Combining services is usually more efficient and keeps your brand consistent. See the full pricing hub or our branding service for more.
