Cape Town Branding & Logo Design

Brand identity built for CAPE TOWN

From V&A Waterfront tech offices to Winelands cellar doors, Cape Town buyers size up a brand in seconds. We build identities that hold up on a wine shelf, in an app store and on a Sea Point shopfront. Remote studio, print couriered to your door. Logo from R5,000, full identity from R25,000.

Juicy Designs builds brand identities and logos for Cape Town businesses, run remotely from our Pretoria studio with print couriered and shoots arranged on location. Cape Town is really several markets at once: Century City and V&A Waterfront tech firms that benchmark against global software brands, City Bowl and Sea Point hospitality that trades on warmth and place, Woodstock retail and creative studios, property brands out at Century City, and Winelands estates that need heritage with contemporary edge. We research the sector and the neighbourhood before we draw, so each identity fits where it lives. The process is fully digital: a written brief, a video discovery call, concept decks over video, and final files through cloud storage. Logo design from R5,000. Full identity, covering logo, colour, typography and guidelines, from R25,000. Brand strategy and identity from R65,000. We also design wine and craft labels for Western Cape producers, supplied to South African labelling regulations and print-ready for the bottling line. No long-term contracts, and you own every file outright.

What we build for Cape Town brands

Six services, one Cape Town focus

From a Woodstock startup to a Franschhoek estate, each service is delivered with the same care and the same eye for the local market.

Logo Design

A considered logo for your Cape Town business, with real competitor research behind the mark. We study your sector, be it CBD hospitality, Century City tech, Winelands wine, Sea Point lifestyle or online retail, then design something that stands out inside that crowd, not just on its own. You get a primary logo, a secondary lockup and a standalone icon, each in light and dark, tested across your key touchpoints before handover. From From R5,000 see full pricing+ VAT.

Brand Identity System

The full visual language of your brand: logo suite, colour (Pantone, CMYK, RGB, HEX), type system, iconography, photography direction and graphic elements, built for a city that notices detail. It suits V&A Waterfront tech companies heading into a raise, hospitality groups opening a second venue, and lifestyle labels moving into e-commerce. Delivered with a guidelines document your whole team can follow. Full identity from From R25,000+ VAT.

Brand Strategy

Cape Town’s busiest sectors, tourism, tech, wine and lifestyle, reward clear, honest positioning and quietly punish anything that reads generic. Strategy work covers local competitor analysis, audience mapping, a positioning statement, a messaging hierarchy and tone of voice. It matters most for startups chasing offshore investment, tourism brands rebuilding demand, and estates repositioning a range for export. Included in packages from From R65,000+ VAT.

Brand Guidelines

Most Cape Town brands juggle several suppliers at once: a web agency, a printer, a social manager, a tourism content creator. Without firm guidelines, consistency slips fast. We produce a detailed document, usually 40 to 80 pages, covering logo use, colour rules, type hierarchy, image style and tone, written so a non-designer can follow it. Supplied as a print-ready PDF or a web brand portal your whole team and supplier network can reach.

Rebranding

Cape Town markets shift quickly: tourism brands rebuilding, tech startups pivoting to B2B, estates courting younger drinkers. A rebrand is as much a strategic call as a design one. We manage the whole move: an audit of your current brand, a positioning review, the identity redesign and a rollout plan. New equity gets built while the parts of your old brand that still earn their keep are carried through. Rebrand projects are quoted individually after a scoping call.

Packaging & Wine Label Design

Cape Town’s wine, food and lifestyle sectors need packaging that earns premium shelf space and reads credibly abroad. We design wine labels (front, back, neck, capsule), food packaging and product labels for Western Cape producers. Artwork is supplied print-ready to South African wine labelling regulations and your bottling line spec, with experience across offset litho, digital print, embossing and foil. Proofs are couriered so you can judge stock and finish in hand. Quoted by SKU and finish.

How a project runs

Remote, but never remote-feeling

What a Cape Town branding project actually looks like with us, from first brief to the files landing in your inbox and the proofs at your door.

  1. Brief & discovery

You fill in a short brand questionnaire, then we meet on a video call to line up goals, market context and where you sit in Cape Town. Research follows: your sector, the visual ground your local competitors already hold, and a clear profile of the buyer you want.

    Week 1
  2. Concepts

Two or three distinct directions, presented in a shared deck with a video walkthrough so you hear the thinking, not just see the slides. Each one carries logo concepts, a colour palette, typography and a written rationale for how it stands apart from the Cape Town brands you compete with.

    Week 2 to 3
  3. Refinement

You pick a direction and we sharpen it over two structured revision rounds. The full system gets built out, colour, typography, secondary elements and a draft of the guidelines. Everything is shown in real settings, on a label, a shopfront or a screen, before you sign off.

    Week 3 to 5
  4. Handover

The full file package arrives through cloud storage: AI, EPS, SVG, PNG and PDF, with the guidelines finalised and a handover call to walk you through it. Printed proofs are couriered where you need them. You own the lot, with no licensing fees, no ongoing charges and no limits on use.

    Week 5 to 6
  5. Live & adjust

Once the brand is out in the market, we check in at 30, 60 and 90 days. If Cape Town buyers respond differently to how we planned, we adjust the applications so the brand keeps pulling its weight.

What sets us apart

Why Cape Town brands work with Juicy Designs

Remote by default, strategy first, and tuned to one of South Africa’s most design-literate markets.

64+ Brands built
200+ Google reviews
10+ Years in business
100% In-house creative

Remote is the default, not a downgrade

Working with Cape Town clients from our Pretoria studio is simply how we operate, and the process is built for it: structured discovery calls, concept decks narrated over video, and shared feedback tools. Physical work is handled around the city, with proofs couriered and shoots arranged on location. You get a faster, tighter project than an in-person agency buried in meetings.

Remote-native

Built for the Cape, not copied to it

We design for Cape Town on its own terms, not generic national work with a mountain reference bolted on. A Winelands estate should not feel like a Century City fintech, and neither should feel like a Sea Point restaurant. We know why they differ and design each accordingly, from the type choices down to the colour temperature.

CT-calibrated

In-house, and founder-run

No outsourcing and no freelance patchwork. Every Cape Town identity is designed by our own team, led directly by Wynand van der Westhuizen (Creative Director) and Cobus van der Westhuizen (CEO). We were founded in Pretoria in 2015 and have delivered brand work into Woodstock, the City Bowl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek from that one studio.

Cape Town branding, answered

Your questions

Straight answers on budgets, remote working, wine labels and rebrands for Cape Town businesses.

Can you brand our Cape Town business without meeting in person?

Yes. We are a Pretoria studio and run Cape Town brand projects remotely as standard: a written brief, a video discovery call, concept decks presented over video, and final files shared through cloud storage. You get the same strategy and craft as an in-person job, and most Cape Town clients find the remote rhythm quicker because decisions happen on scheduled calls rather than drawn-out meetings. When a project needs printed proofs or photography, we courier proofs and arrange on-location shoots in the city.

What should a Cape Town company budget for branding?

A standalone logo starts at R5,000. A full identity system, covering logo suite, colour, typography, brand guidelines and core templates, starts at R25,000. Brand strategy plus identity starts at R65,000. A V&A Waterfront or Woodstock tech startup preparing to raise usually lands between R25,000 and R65,000. A Winelands estate that needs heritage positioning plus a wine label range is scoped by SKU count and finishing. There are no long-term contracts, so you pay per project. Ask for a written quote at juicydesigns.co.za/quote.

How do you design differently for the V&A, the CBD and the Winelands?

Cape Town is not one market. A Century City SaaS brand benchmarks against London and San Francisco, so it leans modern and restrained. A City Bowl or Sea Point hospitality brand trades on warmth and a sense of place. A Winelands estate needs heritage that still reads fresh to younger drinkers. We research your sector and your neighbourhood before drawing anything, so a fintech identity from us looks nothing like a wine estate identity, and both are right for where they sit.

Do you design wine and craft labels for Western Cape producers?

Yes. We design labels for Winelands estates and craft producers, from single-estate premium bottlings to high-volume export ranges. Label work covers front, back, neck and capsule, supplied to South African wine labelling regulations and print-ready for your bottling line. We spec for offset litho, digital print, embossing and foil, and quote by SKU count and finish. Proofs are couriered so you can check stock and finish in hand before the run.

How do you handle print and photo shoots in Cape Town?

Design and approvals happen remotely, then physical work is arranged around the city. Printed proofs and finished collateral are couriered to your V&A Waterfront, CBD or Southern Suburbs address. When a brand needs its own photography, whether a cellar door, a Sea Point storefront or a hospitality interior, we brief and arrange an on-location shoot with a Cape Town photographer rather than leaning on stock. You are never asked to travel to Pretoria.

What files and brand assets do we own at the end?

Everything. You receive editable Adobe Illustrator source files, print-ready EPS, scalable SVG, transparent PNG at several sizes and PDF. Colour is supplied as Pantone, CMYK, RGB and HEX. Brand guidelines arrive as a print-ready PDF covering logo use, colour, typography, imagery and tone. You own it outright, with no licensing fees, no usage limits and no ongoing charges.

Do you brand small businesses and startups in Cape Town?

Yes. A good share of our Cape Town work is for owner-run shops, cafes and early-stage startups. A logo starts at R5,000, and you can add an identity system around it whenever the business is ready. You brief us once and receive an ownable mark made for your market, not a marketplace template.

Can you rebrand a Cape Town company that has outgrown its look?

Yes. A rebrand runs from positioning through new identity to rollout across your website, social, signage and print, so nothing looks left behind. We audit which equity is worth keeping, redesign around it and phase the change sensibly, whether you are a Woodstock retailer going upmarket or a tourism operator resetting after a quiet season.
